Rabbi Aryeh Yehudah Leib ben Shalom was one of the leading student of the Maggid of Mezritch. He initially served as the Av Bais Din in Volochisk and then moved to Tzfat. He was a Mechutan with both Rabbi Nachman of Breslov and the Choze of Lublin.
