Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz was born in Thessaloniki in 1550 to a family that had been part of the Spanish expulsion. Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz is buried in the old cemetery of Safed right near the Kever of the Arizal. It is only possible to reach his tziyun by climbing over the surrounding fence or by approaching it through the women's section.
