Hinged casement windows offer a wide-open expansive view which is unimpeded by the frames of the window sash of a horizontal or vertical sliding window. Casement windows are generally outswing windows though there are some casements in which the hinges are placed on the inside of the window, enabling the window to swing inward. Casement windows are usually placed in a location in which the outswinging window sashes will not disturb the area surrounding the window such as near a driveway or a walkway. Casement windows may include either one operating sash or two operating sashes.
