Rabbi Aryeh Yehudah Leib ben Shalom was one of the leading student of the Maggid of Mezritch. He initially served as the Av Bais Din in Volochisk and then moved to Tzfat, passing away in 1816. He was a Mechutan with both Rabbi Nachman of Breslov and the Choze of Lublin.
Kever Rabbi Aryeh Yehudah Leib of Volochisk
Rabbi Aryeh Yehudah Leib of Volochisk is buried in a cave in the old Cemetery of Tzfat along with his son, daughter in law. As he instructed before his passing, no praise other then 'Lover of Torah' is inscribed on his tombstone.
Hillula
The yahrzeit of Rabbi Aryeh Yehudah Leib of Volochisk falls out on the 23rd of Tamuz (27th of Nisson???). His kever is often visited by Na Nach chasidim on this day.
