The Cave of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai is located in the Druze occupied village of Peki'in, North Israel. It was in this location that Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai hid with his son Rabbi Elazar to escape a death sentence from the ruling Roman government. Originally in the cave for 12 years, they were forced to return for another year after their first emergence.
